On to the stacks of printed words and images that I’ve gone through over the last few months, and I’m sure I’ve missed some:<\/p>\n

Books<\/u><\/b>:
\n– Used my iPhone to finally read Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland<\/span> and Through the Looking Glass<\/span>
\n– Nahoko Uehashi’s Moribito II: Guardian of the Darkness<\/span> continues the goodness, and I’d love to see Production I.G. follow up their adaptation of the first book with a 13-episode season covering this, or perhaps a movie.
\n– Finished the last book in Terry Brooks’s Word and the Void<\/span> trilogy, which leaves me wanting the Genesis of Shannara<\/span> trilogy
\n– Currently working on Steven Erikson’s Toll the Hounds<\/span>, the Malazan books are always a long project
\n– Again have a growing stack of unread books, the newest being the first Spice and Wolf<\/span> light novel.<\/p>\n

Comics<\/u><\/b>:
\nBuying piles of books, usually 10-15 singles per week, plus the occasional trade, its safe to say this is something I’ve been rather focused on…<\/p>\n

DC Comics<\/b>:
\n– Finished up various minis, most recently the Final Crisis: Aftermath<\/span> titles and Arkham Reborn<\/span>
\n– Reading Batgirl<\/span>, Batman<\/span>, Batman and Robin<\/span>, Batman: Detective Comics<\/span>, Batman: Streets of Gotham<\/span>, Doom Patrol<\/span>, The Great Ten<\/span>, Gotham City Sirens<\/span>, Green Arrow-Black Canary<\/span>, Outsiders<\/span>, Power Girl<\/span>, Red Robin<\/span>, Secret Six<\/span>, and World’s Finest<\/span><\/p>\n

Marvel Comics<\/b>:
\n– Finished up the newest volume of Exiles<\/span>, Immortal Weapons<\/span>, War Machine<\/span>, most of the Soleil<\/i> titles, and The Wizard of Oz<\/span> limited series
\n– Reading Astonishing X-Men<\/span>, Fantastic Four<\/span>, Invincible Iron Man<\/span>, The Marvelous Land of Oz<\/span>, S.W.O.R.D.<\/span>, Ultimate Comics Iron Wars<\/span>, Vengeance of the Moon Knight<\/span>, and X-Force<\/span> (and Necrosha tie-ins)<\/p>\n

Others<\/b>:
\n– Finished up Ignition City<\/span>, Incognito<\/span>, The Incredibles<\/span>, North 40<\/span>, and others I’m sure I’m forgetting.
\n– Reading Anna Mercury 2<\/span>, Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love<\/span>, DMZ<\/span>, Do Androids Dream of Electronic Sheep<\/span>, Doktor Sleepless<\/span>, Empowered<\/span>, Ex Machina<\/span>, Fall Out Toy Works<\/span>, Greek Street<\/span>, Madame Xanadu<\/span>, Northlanders<\/span>, Phonogram 2<\/span>, Soulfire<\/span>, Soulfire: New World Order<\/span>, Starstruck<\/span>, Supergod<\/span>, Underground<\/span>, The Unwritten<\/span>, and Viking<\/span><\/p>\n

And that’s not even counting the trades, where I’ve picked up Paul Pope’s 100%<\/span>, Batgirl: Year One<\/span>, Secret Warriors<\/span>, Kyle Baker’s Special Forces<\/span>, Brian Azzarello’s Filthy Rich<\/span>, both volumes of Justice League Elite<\/span>, continuing to get the Moon Knight<\/span> hardcovers as the singles go to a friend, started collecting Fables<\/span> now that its getting the hardcover treatment, and think I’m about to get into the trades for the current runs of Wonder Woman<\/span> and the various Green Lantern<\/span> stuff that’s been happening since they got, well, more colorful. So yes, lots of comics for me.<\/p>\n

In something of a stroke of awesome, somewhere around the end of September, start of October, Ryan Kelly<\/a> had a garage sale and I went over and pilfered huge stacks of Batgirl<\/span> and Ex Machina<\/span> from him, along with the aforementioned copy of Pope’s 100%<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Manga<\/u><\/b>:
\n– ARIA<\/span> vol 5

\n– Battle Angel Alita: Last Order<\/span> vol 12
\n– Black Lagoon<\/span> vol 8
\n– Detroit Metal City<\/span> vols 2-3

\n– The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi<\/span> vols 2-4

A slower affair, as ever, particularly as I’m not up with the scanlation scene, and we’re now at a frustrating point of Alita<\/span> and Black Lagoon<\/span> both being essentially caught up with the Japanese releases, meaning new volumes will be slower than ever, le sigh. I also really wish someone would pick up and translate Birdy: The Mighty<\/span>, as I’ve quite enjoyed the anime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
